Hello from Portland, OR — where she is really showing off this Spring.

As we navigate difficulty and shocking information together, the flowers and trees seem to know just what we need. Something extraordinary is unfolding outside these walls — you needn't venture far before you are stopped in your tracks, undone by color, texture, fragrance, and the sheer, glorious folly of this beloved city of ours.

April carries us into the second half of our two-part exploration of routines, rhythms, and the quiet wisdom of aligning ourselves with the turning seasons in support of our shifting hormones. This month, our gaze softens toward cleansing and releasing — not only through a gentle seasonal guide (tucked in below), but through the many other ways we might consider what it means to clear, to lighten, to let go.

Ayurveda reminds us that everything is food — not only what we place on our plates, but the emotions we carry, the thoughts we turn over, the images we take in, the experiences that move through our senses. Even the quality of the seat where we eat, read, study, or simply rest becomes an ingredient in our digestion. When we weave this understanding into the natural arc of hormonal change and graceful aging, we begin to see how profoundly all of it matters — how tending to the whole of life is, in itself, an act of deep nourishment.
