Lists

I like lists.
They hold things for me when my mind can’t.
They remember when I forget.

And yet—
I wonder about them.
About how something meant to help
can quietly turn into a tally
of what’s unfinished,
a rigid map that forgets the terrain beneath our feet.

When does a list stop supporting life
and start demanding it?
When does it miss what can’t be written down at all?

Lately, my curiosity has been circling
the most ordinary parts of living—
how we tend them,
how we care for what repeats itself every day.
